Ziqi Gao 「高子琪」

I am an incoming tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Shenzhen International Graduate School of Tsinghua University, where I will lead the Intelligent Science Group (ISG), starting from 2026 Spring. My research interests lie in AI for Protein and Science foundation models.

I earned my Ph.D. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, advised by Prof. Jia Li. During my Ph.D., I worked as research intern at Tencent AI Lab and IDEA, collaborating with Peilin Zhao, Zijing Liu and Yu Li. Before that, I received M.S. and B.S. degrees from Tsinghua University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, respectively.

Research

My research interests are centered around the broad field of AI for Science. Specifically, I focus on fundamental protein-related problems, such as protein-protein interactions and protein structure prediction, as well as application-oriented research, including protein representation learning and pre-training based on large language models. The goal is to develop versatile all-in-one protein foundational model.
